    Ashland, LLC, a $3.4BN global specialty chemical company, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Human Resources to join our HR leadership team at our Wilmington, DE location. This is an influential, visible, and significant role within the Company, responsible for partnering with the commercial, sales and marketing organizations. This position will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

    Description

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

     

    • Contribute to the business strategy by partnering with the SVP, Commercial Businesses and his global team to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes
    • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual advancements of business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
    • Analyze performance gaps and organizational trends to identify targeted actions and HR programs that mitigate people related risks and solve business problems
    • Assist business leaders in providing employees with development plans and opportunities that advance individual competencies, and align with current and future performance standards
    • Deliver HR core processes to the commercial teams including, performance management, change management, succession planning, and staffing & selection
    • Work with senior leaders throughout the commercial business to plan and coordinate the full range of HR related services, including employment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, EEO/AA, policy development, etc.
    • Gain client feedback to strengthen all HR functions, improve service levels and alert HR areas where an issue/project may have impact on other areas
    • Act as a liaison between the business and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with business needs
    • Engage with employees and successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
    • Serve as an active member of the CHRO’s HR leadership team; interacting with and assisting the other global HR leaders to form a cohesive and effective team.

    Qualifications

    To be qualified for this role, you must demonstrate or possess the following:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business, Human Resources or Organization Development
    • 10 years of broad based professional HR experience with at least 5 years as an HR professional in a global role
    • Proven success in HR business partnering with demonstrated favorable impact
    • Possess comprehensive knowledge of progressive HR practices, key trends and employment legislation
    • “Roll up your sleeves” approach with ability to juggle multiple priorities
    • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
    • Experience working with and driving organizational change initiatives across global teams
    • Ability to engage, inspire and influence people
    • Demonstrated competence in various HR functional areas: coaching, employee relations, talent development, compensation, performance management, and program management
    • Prior experience designing HR programs with effective communications, including presenting to senior management as well as large audiences at varying levels of the organization
    • Ability to travel up to 25% domestic and international

     

    Also preferred:

    • Master’s degree
    • GPHR, SPHR or PHR Certificate
    • Chemical, pharma or commercial sales/marketing industry HR experience in a large global manufacturing company
    • Workday Knowledge
    • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
