    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an I/E Technician to join our Ashland LLC business at our Calvert City, Kentucky location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Maintenance function. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.


    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Work closely with the I&E Front Line Leader and others in the Maintenance group to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department
    • Troubleshoot and repair motors and motor starters within the voltage ranges of 120, 480 and 4160 VAC
    • Read and understand electrical blue prints, one-line diagrams and loop sheets
    • Troubleshoot and repair AC variable speed drive controllers
    • Troubleshoot and repair VAC and DCV control circuits including relays, interlocks, timers, alarms, etc.
    • Troubleshoot and repair 13,800 volt and lower voltage feeders
    • Troubleshoot, calibrate and repair process field instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, flow and level transmitters (Pneumatic and Electronic)
    • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic low voltage DC and 120 VAC control circuits
    • Troubleshoot and repair microprocessor controllers, distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers
    • Comply with all plant safety rules and report all incidents and events to immediate supervision for corrective action
    • Attend departmental safety meetings and actively support and participate in safety programs and implementations
    • Comply with all Ashland, Calvert City plant policies, procedures and practices applicable to the Maintenance Department
    • Participate in various Company and regulatory training as required
    • Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    • Journeyman status as an electrician and/or instrumentation technician through an approved apprenticeship program
    • Valid Kentucky electrical license
    • Ability to navigate through basic computer functions and thorough knowledge and understanding of the NEC and be familiar with the current NFPA70E requirements.

    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience at the journeyman level in an industrial setting (chemical plant, refinery, paper mill, etc.)
    • Associate degree in Electronics and a minimum of 5 years work experience at a verifiable journeyman level in an industrial setting may be considered qualified for the position
