    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Operation Supervisor to join our Consumer Care business at our Research Center in Wilmington Delaware. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical function. This position will report to Director of Pharmaceutical Technology.


    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1.  Lead the operation of the pharmaceutical pilot plant and research labs, ensuring all operation procedures meet safety and regulatory requirement
    2. Coordinate project team’s resources including equipment, materials, testing facilities, and related staff functions to accomplish assigned goals and project time-lines
    3. Work closely with EHS to ensure a safe operational environment of pharmaceutical labs and pilot plant
    4. In charge of formulation equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operation
    5. Coordinate the equipment and API/chemical handling trainings of the pharma technical staff
    6. Coordinate activities with Project Leaders, Scientists, Engineers and other functions as warranted, ensuring quality results in a timely manner
    7. Dialogue with project and team Leaders on a regular basis to ensure the progress of their projects
    8. Prepare and maintain documentation required of projects and for the manufacture of R&D and/or pilot scale materials as needed
    9. Execute tasks upon receiving direction from supervision
    10. Generate and maintain documentation required of projects and pharmaceutical operations
    11. Evaluate data and documentation from project trials and testing
    12. Prepare reports summarizing the results and recommendations based on direction from supervisors

    **This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    1. Associate degree or BS degree in Pharmaceutics/Chemical Engineering or related disciplines with 10+ years of formulation development experience in pharmaceutical industry
    2. Extensive experience with oral solid dosage forms and processing
    3. Experience with Pharmaceutical GMP operation
    4. Experience with potent compound handling
    5. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    6. Must be authorized to work in the United States

    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit: 

    1. Experience with organic solvent emission regulation
    2. Experience with controlled substances
    3. Experience with injectable dosage form and processing
