    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Account Manager to join our Composites business.  This position would be home based but preference to the Gulf Coast Region.  This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Sales function. This position will report to NA Sales Manager.


    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    •  Identify and evaluate market trends and activities to positions Composite’s value proposition with key strategic customers within territory
    • Build strong relationships at all levels, prospect new market applications/projects and influence choices for materials used within territory, ultimately securing specifications of Ashland’s Composite resin
    • Plans how to establish and maintain major account relationships and meet personal sales targets within the full line of products or combination of product
    • A track record of increased responsibility in a Chemical sales environment with good knowledge of manufacturing processes, financial and inventory management, supply chain, EH&S and compliance programs
    • Proven, relevant qualifications in the following areas: self-motivator, enthusiastic, time management skills and action orientation r
    • Ability to negotiate and build effective relationships
    • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, are required.
    • Excellent Leadership and Communication Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent
    • Implemented process improvement initiatives


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    • Bachelor of Science preferred, with experience in the Composites, Adhesives, Plastic Material and/or Resin Sales is desired.
    • 7-10 years of experience within Chemical industry
    • Willing to travel with up to 50% overnight travel required
    • Must be eligible to work in the US


    **This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

    •  4 year degree required, master’s degree desired
    • 5-10 territory management sales experience
    • Direct sales and distribution sales experience
    • Proven track record of growth in a competitive environment
    • Strong business acumen
    • Strong value selling skills
