    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Product Safety to join our Ashland LLC business at our Wilmington, DE site. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Safe and Responsible Operations function. This position will report to Senior Director of Product Stewardship.


    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


    • Oversee day to day operations of the Toxicology and Hazard Classification functions and additional supporting group(s)
    • Participating in various trade organization and technical groups representing the best interests of Ashland
    • In collaboration with Industrial Hygiene, support Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) handling and manufacturing at R&D labs and Manufacturing sites
    • Author risk assessments pertaining to Prop 65 regulations, Product Quality, Internal Occupational Safety, Product Stewardship and Toxicology summaries, and set Occupational Exposure Limits for APIs
    • Author and oversee the department’s interpretation of new regulations and guidance for key stakeholders in Ashland
    • Provide direct and indirect support for all of Ashland’s commercial interests, including discussions with external customers, key opinion leaders and participation in FDA & EPA open meetings
    • Support new product introductions through Ashland’s Product Development

    **This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    • A minimum of Ph.D. in Toxicology or related life sciences
    • No less than, 5-7 years working in the field of Toxicology (experience in risk assessments, Toxicology study report review, Study monitoring or directing) with demonstrated evidence of progression in responsibility
    • Functional knowledge of various regulations including and not limited to the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Nutrition, Food and Supplements, Adhesives and/ or Medical Device industries.
    • Attention to detail and maintain a high-level understanding of product level support
    • Ability to work cross functionally
    • Excellent people and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated Leadership skills


    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

    •  DABT preferred
    • Management experience preferred
