    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Toll Manufacturing Procurement Assistant to join our Ashland LLC Supply Chain group at our Dublin, OH campus. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Supply Chain organization. This position will report to the Toll Manufacturing Manager.

    Description

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    As a toll manufacturing procurement assistant, you will coordinate the Ashland production activities at several regional toll manufacturing locations.  You will assist the Ashland Toll Manufacturing Manager in maintaining appropriate production activities at the tollers and be responsible for day-to-day scheduling, production coordination and inventory activities for Ashland products at the facilities.  This will include:

    • Planning, creating, revising and transmitting purchase orders for toll manufactured Ashland products to meet stocking requirements and/or customer orders and working with customer service, product management, sales, regional supply coordinators and toll manufacturing personnel to flag and resolve any supply issues.
    • Planning, creating, revising and transmitting purchase orders/stock transfer orders for Ashland supplied materials/components to support production at assigned toll manufacturing locations and working with purchasing and toll manufacturing personnel to resolve any supply issues.
    • Completing goods receipts and quality information for reported toll manufactured products to make product available for customer orders/stock transfers and to consume component inventory used by the toller to produce Ashland product.
    • Coordinating shipment activities of toller produced materials including working with Ashland Logistics and toller personnel to schedule carriers and create necessary shipment paperwork and post goods issue documents. Resolve shipment discrepancies and take any necessary follow up actions to meet business/customer requirements or inventory issues. 
    • Working with the Toll Manufacturing Managers and Purchasing Managers to resolve manufacturing issues including quality control and inventory rework/scrapping.
    • Working with Ashland planning personnel and product management to maintain proper inventory levels of products and components to support business goals by evaluating and suggesting changes to SAP system information. Assisting the Toll Manufacturing Manager/Product Manager to identify slow moving/off-grade (SMOG) inventory and implement proper disposition activities.
    • Working with the Toll Manufacturing Manager and appropriate toller personnel to coordinate processing efficiency projects at the toll manufacturing facility.

     

    Qualifications

    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    • High school graduate required. Technical school/post-secondary education a plus
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

     

    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

    • 3-5 years experience in inventory management, plant operations and/or customer service
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of Ashland personnel and outside personnel to accomplish production and business goals
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track and prioritize/re-prioritize multiple on-going tasks
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong proficiency in SAP transactions – procurement, MRP and/or customer service areas
    • Ability to travel occasionally (0-5 days/year) for training, inventory counts or operational meetings.
