    Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Office Manager to join our Ashland LLC business at our Jacksonville, AR site. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing function. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

    Description

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

     

    The Office Manager has the management responsibility for all aspects of the plant's Office, Shipping/Receiving and railroad movements and operation.  This position is responsible for overseeing and directing all Personnel-Administrative, Purchasing/Logistical activities between the Jacksonville, Arkansas Plant and the corresponding Corporate Departments. The position provides administrative support to the Operations, Maintenance and Laboratory groups at the plant.

     

    • Ensure the facility maintains a safe work environment always by effectively maintaining all safety programs and insuring Safety Procedures are followed always.
    • Ensure the plant is operated in an environmentally safe manner always and assist the Process Engineer(s) with environmental paperwork, tracking raw material levels for permits, printing labels, and coding invoices.
    • Comply with and enforce all company and plant policies and procedures. Work with Corporate HR Generalist, Plant Manager and Operations Manager to develop and maintain personnel policies and procedures.
    • Ensure housekeeping expectations are met in the office, shipping and railroad areas and these areas are kept clean and orderly always.
    • Participate in activities that promote the positive relationship of the Jacksonville Plant and Ashland with neighbors to the plant, the City of Jacksonville, Pulaski County and State of Arkansas whenever possible.
    • Provide daily direction and set performance objectives for (2) Production Facility Information Processor positions, (3) Unloader/Shipping Operators and provide coverage for other office personnel positions, as needed. This includes overseeing and reviewing the shipping/receiving/purchasing activities for raw materials, production and safety supplies, maintaining Plant Inventories, controlling the flow of all Purchase Requisitions, the reconciliation of all invoices within the plant, ensuring that SAP is used appropriately and that receiving records are accurate and complete by comparison of purchase requisition to packing lists.

     

    **This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

    Qualifications

    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

     

    • Bachelor Degree
    • SAP Power User
    • Supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly motivated, goal oriented strong team player.

    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

     

    • Master degree or above
    • Five years of chemical manufacturing experience
    • Strong computer database systems experience
