    Ashland LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Ashland Specialty Ingredients group at our Parlin, New Jersey. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Natrosol manufacturing operation. This position will report to the plant Production Manager.


    **This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Safely follows Ashland policies and procedures
    • Plans, coordinates, and continually improves product yield, rate, and quality
    • Troubleshooting of plant operations and equipment
    • Able to lead and execute PHA, JSA, & MOC
    • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports
    • Provide on-time/in-spec delivery of products
    • Insure EHS compliance while continually pursuing waste minimization and productivity improvements
    • Develop and implement necessary training for operations personnel
    • Maximize plant reliability


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment
    • Leadership skills showing creative thinking and initiative
    • PC - Excel, Word, PP, SAP
    • Operating / Process Control Systems - including Delta V, ASPEN, Provox, etc.
    • Knowledge of Safety Processes, Environmental Awareness, Quality, Budgeting, & ISO
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to clearly communicate instructions, teach processes, lead, motivate and encourage through influence and proven management techniques
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

    The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:


    • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
    • Six Sigma certification
    • TCPA/PSM experience
