Ashland LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Tolling Procurement Manager ,North. America to join our Indirect Procurement team at our Wilmington Delaware campus. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the supply chain function. This position will report to Indirect Procurement Director N. America.


 This position will oversee all North America Tolling procurement functions and manage Tolling Manufacturing Contracts under Indirect Purchasing Department.  This is a high profile position that interfaces with Tollers, Commercial Product team, Production Planning, Quality, and Corporate Legal to ensure risk mitigation and protect business profit margin.  The key deliverable in this position is to effectively negotiate and secure contracts with Ashland North America Tollers while providing sourcing support for timely commercial launch.


Responsibilities under this position include:


  • Negotiate contract terms and managing supplier relationship consistent with overall sourcing strategies and research new Tollers for Ashland's range of products
  • Collaborate with corporate legal to initiate contracts in accordance with business objective
  • Update spend summary and track cost savings through Indirect Purchasing Scorecard and maintain and update contracts in Open Text Database
  • Facilitate Quality Assurance Agreement between Tollers and Quality Department
  • Support Ashland CAPEX implementation at Tollers and provide sourcing strategies to control costs
  • Champion detolling execution through advance planning and support from Business Transition Org.
  • Manage Tolling Outline Agreements in SAP through administrative support


Facilitate RFP and prepare bid packages according to engineering specs. and business requirement


  • Conduct bid analysis and award business based on internal team consensus and collaborate with R&D and Tolling Managers to award business to new Tollers
  • Cost negotiation/validation of one-off spends and timely approval of Purchase Orders
  • Manage supplier relationships consistent with overall procurement and commercial strategy
  • Achieve Tolling project timelines and objectives with a high rate of execution and cost of spend for P&L analysis-resolve outstanding invoices



**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • minimum of 3 years+ industry experience in purchasing contracts and/or Tolling procurement experience
  • Ability to understand business and contractual rights; able to interpret commercial terms and ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual agreements
  • Excellent negotiation and team facilitation skills; able to communicate effectively and ability to lead teams
  • Analytical, strategic, and versed in financial analysis with solid experience in building cost matrix
  • Champion of Management of Change; ability to script Tolling procurement process flow and operating standards
  • Detailed oriented; excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to work with Sales and R&D teams
  • Strong computer skills and intuitive to learn new software and programs-SAP and Excel required
  • Ability to work independently, yet a strong team player able to work effectively amongst cross-functional teams



The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • MBA strongly desired
  • Five years of management of the Tolling process
