Ashland LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Documentation Control to join our Pharmachem group at our Kearny, NJ location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Corporate Quality function. This position will report to Senior Vice President, Corporate Quality.


The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for Documentation Control for all of the 5 New Jersey locations as well as providing SOP guidance for all Pharmachem facilities outside New Jersey. 
  • Generation, review, approval, and maintenance of all Master Manufacturing Records/Master Packaging Records, complaints/returns, change controls, CAPAs, deviations, and procedures for all NJ sites. 
  • All customer returns and complaints (including recalls) through the Material Review investigation process. Assist in determining root cause analysis, trending, corrective action, and disposition of product.
  • Conduct certain specified internal quality systems audits and assist site with corrective actions and appropriate audit observations responses in line with root cause methods. 
  • Support regulatory and customer audits from a documentation control perspective and assist in responding to observations and implementing process improvements through CAPAs.
  • Maintain master files for original documents
  • Responsible for creation, evaluation, and maintenance of the training matrix for all policies/procedures that fall under the control of the Corporate Quality department. Assist with training when and where needed including creating presentations and knowledge assessments for subject matter.
  • Collaborate with all departments to assist with quality related procedures, required by both regulatory or customer requirements, to problem solve and ensure compliance and best practice allowing for efficiencies and avoiding waste.
  • Review products, processes, and systems to determine where improvements can be made.
  • Assist with other projects and fill in for other quality associates as needed.


**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum 5 years of quality management experience. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities and work well in teams of all levels
  • Must be detail oriented, conscientious, responsible, agile, thorough, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to speak and write in English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills required

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Degree in a science field preferred
  • Experience in dietary supplement, food, pharmaceuticals, or related discipline preferred
