Overview

Ashland is seeking a Sustainability Intern to join our team.

  

The intern will directly support Ashland’s Director of Environmental & Sustainability and will be assigned strategic projects to support Ashland’s sustainability efforts. This individual will work with professionals across the company as well as internal and external customers to learn various aspects of sustainability, gather and analyze data using statistical analysis, and complete customer requested sustainability reporting. Projects will support Ashland’s sustainability strategy.

Description

This position will provide experience the individual can use to relate directly to their university course work and gain an overall better understanding of a career within the sustainability field.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Participation on the Sustainability Engagement Team.
  • Gain an understanding of the Global Reporting Initiative G4 Standards and use that to assist with the transition Ashland’s annual sustainability report to conform with the new reporting requirements.
  • Support global procurement’s supplier sustainability project to help Ashland gain better insight into potential sustainability related issues in the supply chain.
  • Work with communications team to execute internal and external communications plan with respect to sustainability.
  • Gather and analyze sustainability metrics data, identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Map Ashland’s 2025 goals to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

*This position is located in Dublin, OH.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to work safely and provide excellent customer service.
  • Working toward a degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering or science, sustainability, or related fields
  • Knowledge of related agencies and programs a plus, such as: UN SDGs, GRI, TfS, Ecovadis, Ecodesk, SEDEX, etc.
  • Ability to work individually and within teams.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Access a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
