Ashland has a great opportunity for a  Marketing Specialist that will support Ashland’s growth in personal (skin chassis*, hair, oral) and home care .
The Specialist will serve as a coordinator between global marketing managers, market research, R&D, sales, and marketing communications. Key responsibilities include (1) creating marketing collateral to support sales/business development (2) designing and implementing marketing campaigns in home and oral care to drive growth (3) reporting market position/share vs competition in assigned products/segment areas


**This position is located in Bridgewater, NJ.



  • (1) ) Build marketing collateral
    • Collaborate with global marketing managers and marketing communications to produce promotional materials/sales tools
    • Develop and maintain effective product marketing copy for technical data sheets, sell sheets, formulations, presentations, and digital content
    • Translate technical data into customer benefits
    • Ensure marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines
    • Maintain internal and external databases of promotional materials.  Identify and fill gaps
  • (2) Support design, implement and monitor marketing campaigns with measurable results to drive growth of company products
    • Follow and analyze global consumer and market trends in collaboration with market research
    • Implement strategies, plans and produce the promotional materials/sales tools to support  campaign launch
    • Reinforce key selling points and product positioning
    • Track and analyze market feedback and results against goals
    • Coordinate marketing events
  • (3) Develop understanding of market position vs competition in assigned products/segment areas
    • Monitor and analyze competitive activity in collaboration with R&D
    • Understand competitive product portfolio
    • Prepare reports on market share

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.



  • 1+ years’ experience in marketing or sales of specialty chemicals / ingredients required. Experience in  personal care market, or MBA preferred
  • Bachelor degree required in technical field required. A technical background  is needed to facilitate interactions with R&D (such as  hands-on technical experience as a formulator technician, R&D scientist, technical sales, technical service support or related role preferred.) 
  • Some travel required.
  • Collaborative team player with experience participating in multi-functional teams.
  • Strong orientation toward creative thinking and strategic problem-solving.
  • Is a self-starter with attention to details and proven ability to multi-task.
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Has ability to focus and drives toward results
  • Brings strong knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel and Word
