Ashland LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Supervisor in Columbus, OH.

Description

This position is responsible for: 

  • Manage, maintain, & continuously improve the quality system at Ashland’s Specialty Ingredients plant in Columbus Ohio.
  • Work safely by complying with all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations and encourage the same of others.
  • Author, update, approve, and maintain on-line quality management system procedures and work instructions.
  • Supervise, train, develop, and appraise two Quality Control Laboratory Technicians.
  • Upon the absence of one or more Lab Technicians; perform manual and instrumental chemical and performance tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished product samples and disposition those materials appropriately.
  • Record, investigate and resolve customer, supplier, carrier, and internal incidents.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis for incident investigation and corrective action development.
  • Contribute to meeting and reporting key plant performance goals.
  • Maintain registration to ISO 9001.
  • Plan and contribute to performing internal quality system audits.
  • Conduct statistical studies including gage R & R studies, and statistical process control.
  • Maintain the inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Assist in cultivating a quality culture through participation in cross-functional teams.
  • Provide support to production by contributing to complaint investigations, internal incidents, and trending historical data to resolve current or avoid future failures.
  • Provide sales, customer service, product development, technical service, and business management by answering and assisting with customer requests and inquiries.
  • Contribute to complying with ISO 14001

 

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or another technical field
    • Specialized technical quality training, Six Sigma, SPC/SQC and root cause analysis experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of the ISO 9001 International Quality Standard.
  • Knowledge and experience with cGMP preferred.
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience in quality control
  • Experience with SAP
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of and experience in statistical process control and statistical analysis software, e.g. MiniTab®
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Adaptability to learn new processes, concepts, and skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to read, interpret, and report data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an attention to detail & the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

 Additional Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, lift 50 lbs., & climb stairs and ladders.
