Overview

Ashland is seeking an EH&S Regulatory Compliance Intern to join our team.

  

The intern will directly support the North America Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory Compliance department located in Dublin, OH and will be assigned projects and daily tasks across various disciplines within this group. This individual will work with EH&S and PR and operations professionals as well as internal and external customers to learn various aspects of EH&S, gather and analyze data using statistical analysis, and identify and recommend process improvements. Projects will support both regional and global operations.

Description

This position will provide experience the individual can use to relate directly to their university course work and gain an overall better understanding of a career within EH&S.

 

Typical responsibilities may include:

 

  • Provide compliance support to various groups, including dangerous goods, safety, air, water and waste.
  • Assist with assignments pertaining to EH&S Audit, incident investigation and remediation.
  • Support Master Data projects implementing ERP system upgrades as well as routine tasks.
  • Supply Chain compliance, including third party service provider and global trade.
  • Gather and analyze process and compliance data, identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ad-hoc global project support for EH&S programs and systems such as GHS, RC & Global Trade.
  • Evaluate and update process procedures.

*This position is located in Dublin, OH.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to work safely and provide excellent customer service.
  • Candidates will be working toward an undergrad degree in environmental or occupational health, or a related field
  • Knowledge of related agencies and programs a plus, such as: OSHA, RCRA, CTPAT, FMCSA and HTS
  • Ability to work individually and with the team.
  • The candidate must possess excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Access a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
