Ashland has an exciting marketing opportunity! The Global Marketing Manager for Skin Care will help accelerate Ashland’s growth in Skin Care (rinse-off / leave-on, Sun Care, and/or Color Cosmetics by serving as a thought leader and coordinator between R&D, Global Sales, and Marketing Communications. Key responsibilities include (1) Managing and growing our innovation pipeline, (2) Building our marketing collateral and brand equity in the market, and (3) Internally developing our organization via trainings, continuous improvement audits, and M&A evaluations.



  • (1) Manage and grow the innovation pipeline
    • Manage the ideation process to collect and prioritize inputs to the R&D pipeline
    • Provide business case and project management support for projects in the R&D pipeline
    • Monitor technical service requests to ensure they are value-add for the organization
  • (2) Build marketing collateral and brand equity in the market
    • Develop a marketing calendar in conjunction with the other Marketing Managers in Personal Care, defining how we will deploy our resources throughout the year
    • Directly build our marketing collateral for skin care and related markets, including customer presentations, sell sheets, digital content, and trade show content
  • (3) Internally develop our organization
    • Conduct sales trainings on newly released products and market positioning
    • Monitor competitive landscape, including annual share and bid information
    • Work with our Digital Strategist to monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and improve our lead generation performance over time
    • Participate in M&A evaluations to grow Ashland inorganically
    • As global manager, coordinate skin care marketing efforts across regions

**This position is located in Bridgewater, NJ or Wilmington, DE.

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


  • 3+ years’ experience in marketing -specialty chemicals / ingredients for the personal care market, ideally skin care, sun care, and/or color cosmetics preferred. Sales experience a plus.
  • Bachelor degree required-preference in technical field preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in building business plans for new product introduction including market sizing and validation required.
  • 10% travel required.
  • Collaborative team player with experience participating in and leading multi-functional (sales / R&D) teams.
  • Strong orientation toward creative thinking and strategic problem-solving.
  • Relevant technical background (see educational requirements) to facilitate interactions with R&D; hands-on technical experience as a formulator, synthetic chemist, process engineer, R&D scientist, or related role preferred.
