Overview

Ashland LLC has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Process Engineer at our plant located in Los Angeles, CA.

Description

Duties include but not restricted to:

  • Troubleshoot quality & processing problems.
  • Program and maintain the process control system, including periodic after hours on call support.
  • Create SAP recipes for both reactor and blending operations.
  • Develop programs and implement system changes to increase equipment utilization and improve product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing procedures and operational procedures for the plant, for new and modified processes.
  • Execute engineering and capital projects as assigned.
  • Supervise production personnel during manufacturing supervisor absences (due to manufacturing supervisor training, vacation and illnesses).
  • Support EH&S activities as needed
  • Assist production scheduler when needed

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly motivated, goal oriented strong team player.
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to wearing respiratory equipment in accordance with the Ashland Respiratory Protection Plan.
  • Requires minimal supervision.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience in batch processing.
  • Experience with plant automation.
  • Experience writing procedures and work instructions.
  • Experience in quality control / with quality issues.
  • Experience with safety programs.
  • Experience with PC applications (Visual Basic Programming, Access, AutoCAD, SAP)
  • Supervisory Experience

**Must be authorized to work in the United States.
