Ashland is seeking an Operations Engineer to join our team. Great opportunity to utilize your process and project skills!


  • Participates in plant safety program, performs tasks in a safe manner, responsible for safe project execution. Takes ergonomics into account in design.
  • Will be involved in both project and process work. 
  • Monitors and reports on plant conditions.
  • Assists with plant troubleshooting.
  • Recommends operational improvements based on data collection and analysis.
  • Develops and implements small to medium size capital projects, safely, on time, and on budget. Usually projects under $1MM
  • Participates and leads plant HAZOP studies.
  • Contributes to MOC reviews.
  • Becomes knowledgeable in the Geminox technology.
  • Monitors catalyst performance and recommends actions to improve performance.
  • Participates as a member of the plant management team.
  • Monitors and guides plant water treatment contract provider.
  • Monitors product quality and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Assists with Turnaround supervision.

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

**This position is located in Lima, OH.



  • Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering  highly preferred, will consider BS Mechanical Engineering with appropriate experience.
  • Process and/or project engineering experience in the chemical or refining industry, 0-3 years of experience.
  • Travel <20%, potential for night and weekend work during turnarounds or other plant outages.

  • Must be eligible to work in the US
