Overview

Like to handle emergencies and work on the phones? Ashland is seeking an Emergency Control Operator to join our team.

 

Shifts are 8:00AM-4:00PM; 4:00PM-Midnight; Midnight-8:00AM. Shifts rotate every three (3) months.

 

**This position is located in Lexington, KY.

Description

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

 

Responsibilities include working in a 24-hour Emergency Control Center responding to situational calls from employees, visitors, customers, contractors, and any affected parties related to Ashland LLC and any of its subsidiaries or products related to those companies with whom Ashland has contracted for similar services. Additionally, the individual working in the control center will act as an agent to centrally monitor alarm systems located in Ashland facilities and Ashland customers, accept reports of product spills, injuries, security incident’s, and a variety of other emergency-related incidents, closely following set procedures and protocols to facilitate first responder actions, all working in a potentially stressful situation. All events must be accurately documented and information received must be kept in the strictest confidence. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of High School Diploma required
  • Ability to work Shift work (including holidays, weekends, evening and midnight shifts) required
  • Shifts are 8:00AM-4:00PM; 4:00PM-Midnight; Midnight-8:00AM. Shifts rotate every three (3) months.
  • Ability to maintain self-control during emergency situations is required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands for immediate action, with tact and courtesy, in dealing with inquiries and complaints is required
  • Data entry, Microsoft Applications and customer service experience highly desired
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Overtime may be required, at times
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
