Description

In support of the Ashland Compensation programs, the Global Compensation Consultant will work directly with Ashland Human Resource Business Partners and Director of Compensation and Benefits to ensure the effective communication, administration, reporting, and analysis of compensation related policies, programs and systems. 

 

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Compensation professional who enjoys collaborating with management, HR leaders, subject matter experts, and professional consultants to deliver global compensation programs.  With the right combination of knowledge in domestic and international compensation programs and processes, and Human Resources expertise, the Global Compensation Consultant will have a critical role in ensuring Ashland’s position as a leading specialty chemical company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the design of innovative, competitive, cost effective compensation and reward programs to help Ashland attract, retain, reward and motivate high performing and high potential employees.
  • Support compensation initiatives across the organization and advise HR and business leaders in the development of competitive base and bonus/incentive programs in accordance with a global compensation philosophy.
  • Provide advice to the human resources community and managers on pay decisions, pay guidelines, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation.
  • Manage job analysis, job evaluations, job description review, and job pricing.
  • Administer and maintain the global compensation structure.
  • Participate in worldwide salary surveys and assure compensation programs are market competitive and internally equitable.
  • Manage the annual compensation review process for merit and bonus.
  • Design, develop and oversee compensation related training and education programs for executives, managers, and other support management.
  • Provide communication and training to HR leaders on compensation strategies, objectives, and the features of the compensation programs, providing tools and techniques to ensure that plan objectives are met and consistently applied.
  • Perform periodic benchmarking of existing programs against the market and recommend changes as appropriate.
  • Provide expertise on global compensation programs and ensure they meet local legal/ compliance requirements of the countries in which the programs exist.

 

**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS, with a minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in Compensation with a heavy concentration in compensation design and administration is required.
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. and global compensation practices including compensation/bonus/incentive programs, policy design/implementation, job analysis, market analysis, federal and local regulations, labor market trends, and analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience with presentations to management preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and/or programs is preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent project management skills including the ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a dynamic environment, document and communicate project plans, monitor progress and achieve milestones.
  • Detail oriented with demonstrated competency in process management, analysis, decision making, and cultural awareness.
  • Must have strong analytical skills using both quantitative and qualitative date and have the ability to draw conclusions from analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Workday or other HCM systems is strongly preferred.
  • Must have expert knowledge of Excel (including formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables) and proficiency with Word and Power Point.
