Ashland has an opening for a Electrician / I&E Technician at our plant located in Columbus, OH. Description

This position maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems.  It also maintains, calibrates, repairs, and installs instrumentation & process controls.

  • Maintain, repair and calibrate instruments & controls.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems.
  • Install new instruments & controls, and new electrical systems.
  • Ability to install conduit and electrical circuitry from point A to point B and keeping system up to electrical codes.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair.
  • Capability to perform physically strenuous work while wearing air filtering masks or supplied breathing air.
  • Ability to work with extreme temperatures, confined space entry, loud noises, heavy weight lifting, climbing ladders.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  
  • Must have some type of formalized electrical training certificate.Journeyman status preferre
  • 2+years of electrical work; Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude, resourcefulness.
  • Troubleshooting skills and an ability to help solve problems
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

 Safety Requirements

  • Must be eager to actively participate in a safety culture that is founded on the belief that all types of incidents are preventable and that every job can be done safely
  • Must be willing to follow all safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment
  • Must be able to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel toed boots, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

 Physical Requirements: 

  • Must have the ability to work outside as needed all year round.
  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time while repairing equipment.
  • Ability to work with extreme temperatures, confined space entry, loud noises, heavy weight lifting, climbing ladders.
  • Must have the ability to lift, move, push, pull position and carry tools and materials as needed.
