Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Paralegal in our Bridgewater, NJ, location. 




The Paralegal will provide support to the US Commercial legal team of the Ashland LLC Law Department. The position will provide support to internal Ashland attorneys in Dublin, Ohio, Bridgewater, New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware in commercial legal US matters, such as:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and revising commercial contracts in the US and globally, as applicable (e.g. service agreements, sales agreements, quality assurance agreements, purchase agreements, nondisclosure agreements)
  • Creating and updating templates for commercial contracts
  • Reviewing marketing materials for compliance with legal obligations
  • Preparing legal training material for business on various commercial topics such as the use of nondisclosure agreements or how-to guides on various commercial topics
  • Perform legal research via on-line resources.

In the performance of these duties the paralegal will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills,
  • Learn various internal applications
  • Accurately handle a large volume of assignments, while showing the necessary attention to detail
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and exemplary work ethic;
  • Be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.


**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.


 **This position is located in Bridgewater, NJ.  No relocation support will be provided if the successful candidate is currently located outside this area.


  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, or its foreign equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Commercial paralegal with a law firm or corporation in the U.S. 
  • The ability to travel on a limited basis to other locations within the US (less than 10%)
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Current U.S. work authorization* 
  • The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
    -Working knowledge of database systems such as Sharepoint and OpenText
    -Paralegal certification
    -Foreign language skills (e.g. German, French, Spanish)
