Business Transformation Project Manager


**This position can be located in Dublin, OH or Covington, KY.


The role of the Business Transformation Project Manager (PM) is to lead, plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the company’s critical strategic business projects. The PM will work closely with executive level leaders in the organization to make sure that the scope and direction of assigned projects are on schedule and resourced appropriately.  PMs are action-oriented and expected to work independently or lead large cross-functional teams to implement company-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP, Business Transformation Office, the PM will act as an advisor to the project sponsor throughout the life-cycle of the project. 

The responsibilities will also include:

Plan the project

  • Define the scope of the project by collaborating with all levels of management and across many business functions
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review the project schedule with senior management and other key stakeholders impacted; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

Staff the project

  • In consultation with the appropriate manager, recruit, interview and select staff and/or volunteers with appropriate skills for the project activities
  • Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the project
  • Work with Program Management Office leader to contract qualified consultants to work on the project, as appropriate

Implement the project

  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust, as necessary, to ensure the successful completion
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress of the project
  • Complete forms, records and status reports to document project activities
  • Review the quality of the work completed by the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards

Control the project

  • Write reports on the project for management
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly)
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date

Evaluate the project

  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase


  • College degree is required; PMP certification highly desired.

  • Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on project and change management experience with implementing complex strategic business projects. 

  • Significant experience in a role of successfully managing multiple business initiatives through all project phases, including the design and implementation of new business processes to support those initiatives. 

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Able to build partner relationships with customers, and focus on solving their problems.
  • Organization and Time Management Skills: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
  • Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Capable of communicating both on a one-to-one and one-to-many basis.
  • Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem. Determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Project.
