Global Business Development Manager  - Engineered Stone


Ashland Performance Materials (APM) is a leader in thermosetting resins and gelcoats for the composites industry. We work every day to solve customer problems through differentiated polymers and technical service.  The composites industry is a dynamic industry with significant growth prospects as companies in every sector try to cut weight, increase design flexibility, increase insulating properties and eliminate corrosion in their products.



The Business Development group within our Performance Materials business focuses on medium to long-term growth beyond normal new product development and customer acquisition. The group is also involved in strategic planning, marketing strategy and special projects including acquisitions. There is an immediate need for a qualified candidate to implement Ashland’s global strategy in the engineered stone market.


Upon completion of the initial assessment and rollout of the engineered stone strategy, the engineered stone business development manager will become the permanent industry manager, or revert back in to business Development for additional project work based on the needs of the company and the individual:

  • Merger and acquisition identification and assessment.
  • External technology identification and assessment
  • New application development in the composites market
  • Marketing strategy
  • Special projects such as pricing analysis, market segmentation, market expansion plans, channel analysis, etc. as needed in the business
  • Build Organizational Capability – Grow the capability of the organization by improving processes and approaches, and building organization knowledge in marketing and innovation process management 


**This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.



  • College degree, preferably in science or engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a related field or function; global marketing, product management, sales, branding, engineered stone industry
  • Experience in market analysis and management including global pricing and value selling


  • High energy, self-starter
  • Ability to work independently and across geographies
  • Ability to travel about 60% - 70% both within the US and globally
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
