Ashland LLC is currently seeking a safety focused, talented, & highly motivated individual to join our Piedmont, SC facility as an Operations Technician. This is a chemical operator position focusing on production of batch quantities of specialty materials for the coatings and adhesives markets.




Responsibilities to include the following: 

  • Batch chemical operating tasks
  • Raw material/product movement
  • Additions/weights
  • Adjusting process control instrumentation
  • Equipment adjustments
  • Sampling and testing of products
  • packaging of material
  • Record keeping
  • Minor maintenance tasks


Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent 
  • 5 Years previous chemical plant experience (batch or continuous operations) is desired; other experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered
  • Military Experience is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, trouble-shooting skills and process experience
  • Proficiency/Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs, including MS Outlook
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must 
  • This is a 12-hour shift rotating position. Must have the ability to respond to call-outs, & flexibility to work overtime 
  • Requires close attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a team or individually, dependability, judgement, initiative and a positive attitude is a must
  • Position can require climbing, lifting, inside/outside activities and use of a forklift
  • The job requires the wearing of long-sleeve Nomex uniforms, respirators (requiring clean-shaven face at all times while on-duty) and other Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass the post-offer drug test and physical
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
