For our Bridgewater Office in New Jersey or our Wilmington Delaware office, we are looking for a service oriented and self-confident Quality professional.


In this senior role you are responsible for managing, maintaining and continually improving the quality management systems of the reporting plants. Safeguarding the alignment of applicable ISO9001, regulatory, compendial, business and customer needs within the chemical manufacturing footprint.


  • Serving as a senior Ashland representative on associated plant quality matters to the manufacturing and business function.
  • Ensuring that the plants are working according to the ISO9001 based Ashland QMS, including as appropriate, API, excipient, food additive, cosmetic ingredient, medical device etc. cGMPs.
  • Ensuring an effective quality incident, capture, escalation, root cause analysis, and effective CAPA tracking mechanism is operational.
  • Ensuring the plants have an effective internal audit program, facilitate customer audits and ensure follow through on the schedule and remedial actions.
  • Providing problem solving support to the plants, business and customers as necessary on quality related issues.
  • Monthly measure, trend, analyze and report quality key performance metrics against agreed targets, explaining exceptions.
  • Ensuring an effective Quality Risk Management program is implemented across all processes and a risk based testing and an inspection program is established for raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
  • Drive the continuous improvement program across the plants and contribute or lead global initiatives.


  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years in manufacturing quality management (QA&QC) within at least one of the cGMP markets served by Ashland, leading multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and market specific certification programs such as BRC/FSSC22000, EXCiPACT™, EFfCI etc.
  • Good understanding of test methods and metrology
  • Ideally, a certified Lean six sigma certified green belt or higher with good project management, financial and statistical knowledge skills
  • Experience with internal and external quality auditing, certification an advantage.
  • Work experience within Manufacturing and Engineering is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge and thorough understanding of Quality regulatory structure and requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills such as planning and organization, problem solving and ability to adapt rapidly to changes in business
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
